We have three men who have been found to meet the requirements as outlined in the New Testament to be appointed as elders in our congregation.
1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9
The elders at Englewood humbly ask for the prayers of all as they strive to do God’s will (Hebrews 13:17).
Having been raised in a home by Christian parents, Hubert & Irene Lee, Jim obeyed the gospel at the age of 16. Soon after he was baptized, Jim had the opportunity to fulfill his desire to preach. Several preachers in the area allowed Jim to fill in during their absence or made opportunity for him to preach as often as possible. He will be forever grateful to brethren like Glen Murphy, Estin Vanderver, and Charlie Graham for giving him the opportunity to begin preaching at such a young age. Jim’s wife, Sandi learned the truth from her aunt Vivian Hatfield and was baptized in 1969. Jim and Sandi were married in 1972 and they have three sons: Josh, Adam and Zack. Jim was appointed to the eldership in 2005 and has met the challenges with humility and considers this responsibility to be his way of fulfilling God’s work.
Bill has worked at Good Samaritan Hospital for 34 years. He currently is working in the Heart and Vascular Hospital as a Medical Assistant. Bill has been a Christian since 1974 and was appointed to the eldership in 2005. He has been blessed with a faithful Christian wife, Kyung Ja (Kay), and they been married for 33 years. They have three son who are all members of the Lord’s church: Steven, Daniel, and Nathan. Bill feels privileged to be able to serve Englewood as one of its elders.
